The Diet Failed YOU, Not the Other Way Around

Imagine this:

You’re super excited to try a new diet, hoping that this will be the one that works? You do okay for the first few days or even weeks. You drop some lbs and are feeling good. But after a while, you’re starting to have intense cravings. You want that forbidden food but you’re not allowed! You just have to hang on a little longer until you lose all the weight! You’re so hungry and you’re getting sick of chicken, brown rice, and broccoli.

You tell yourself you can’t ruin your diet! But the point comes when you just can’t do it and you end up bingeing on a pan of brownies. You feel sick and tell yourself, “I won’t eat these anymore after today. I’ll start fresh tomorrow.”

And then the cycle repeats itself over and over. It leaves you thinking that you just don’t have enough self control or you just need to try harder next time.” But next time comes and it happens again.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

Well we’re here to tell you that you did not fail the diet. The diet failed you.

95% of diets fail. And most dieters will gain back all the weight the lost (and more!) within 3-5 years.

You’ve probably heard of yo-yo dieting. It’s when someone goes on a diet, loses weight, goes off the diet, gains the weight back, then goes back on a diet. Basically, your weight goes up and down, up and down. But the overall trend is up. Our bodies don’t like that up and down, up and down. They like to remain more constant. When you’re a chronic dieter, your body feels like it is constantly in starvation mode and it will lower your metabolism in an effort to save all the calories (energy) it’s getting to survive. It will also raise your body’s weight set point. So you’re pretty much doing the exact opposite of what you’re wanting to do when you diet.

When you’re restricting your food intake, it’s normal for your body to have more food cravings and for you to think about food more. It’s your body’s way of telling you IT NEEDS FOOD.

So if you’re tired of the back and forth, the restricting then bingeing/overeating, and want to get out of the dieting cycle…
