Edee Burton, MSWi (she/her)
Let's find your way to more inner peace.
Maybe you’ve tried to manage the anxiety, change your relationship with food or your body, push through chronic pain, or move on from painful experiences—and somehow you keep ending up in the same patterns. You may even understand why you feel or respond the way you do, but still struggle to create lasting change.
I offer trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, body image concerns, chronic pain and chronic illness, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ identity, and questions around faith or spirituality. Rather than treating your symptoms or patterns as something that needs to be fixed, we’ll get curious about how they developed, what they may be trying to protect you from, and what your mind and body have been communicating along the way.
As a Somatic, IFS therapist, I pay close attention to the connection between emotional and physical well-being. Trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and chronic pain can show up not only in our thoughts and emotions, but in our bodies. Therapy can help you slow down, understand these connections, and begin responding to yourself with more intention and compassion.
I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Together, we may explore the different parts of you, process trauma at a pace that feels manageable, work toward a more peaceful relationship with food and your body, or understand the protective strategies that have helped you survive but may no longer be serving you.
You don’t have to keep fighting with yourself to change. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, build self-compassion, and create a life that feels more peaceful, connected, and authentically yours.
